Hello Reilly
The first thing you notice about Reilly is her huge welcoming smile, and after just a short conversation with her, it’s hard not to notice that she’s an old soul, wise way beyond her years.
Reilly Skorupski believes when something feels hard, you have to attack it head-on. And job searching is hard. In fact, Reilly almost didn’t come to the career fair that day in February, but at the very last minute she decided to go; and that end-of-the-day conversation with Sarah Irving ultimately brought her to Meridian as our newest Support Advisor.
Reilly joined Meridian this past spring after graduating from George Mason’s Costello College of Business with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Reilly began her college career as a goalkeeper at Radford University, pursuing a degree in Computer Science.
After some soul-searching and a conversation with her Dad, she decided to change her major to Finance. It seemed that a career in finance, unlike being a doctor, veterinarian, or a software engineer, could be a cool intersection between her love of numbers and her love of people. And so, in her sophomore year, she transferred to Mason, where she could also be closer to her family.
During her senior year, she became involved with Mason’s Montano Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) where she gained hands-on experience in investment research and portfolio management. A school trip to the financial district in New York was a highlight of her year – a game-changer, if you will – that deepened her understanding of equity research and investment banking and confirmed for her this was where she wanted to build her career.
Inspired by her desire to help people walk through the different phases of life, and sharing her love and knowledge of finance, she found herself drawn to the support advisor role. When asked what she likes most about working at Meridian, she will tell you how special it is to get to support building financial plans that help clients reach their goals. She enjoys serving clients, feeling like she has an impact, and loves the supportive and dynamic team here at Meridian.
Reilly comes from a close-knit family of six and enjoys spending time with her two sisters and brother. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her black cat, Obi, and her friendly pit bull mix, Luna.
What are your favorite hobbies?
An avid weightlifter, going to the gym gives me purpose and an identity outside of work – I can allow my mind to detach from what’s going on and focus on being better for myself.
What is your favorite book/movie?
I don’t have a favorite movie, but I prefer action movies.

What are your bucket list vacation spots?
My top three vacation spots right now are: Costa Rica, Brazil, and Japan
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received or your favorite quote?
Uncle Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender. “Destiny is a funny thing. You never know how things will work out, but if you keep an open mind and an open heart, I promise you will find your own destiny someday”.
