Hello Melanie
There’s something special about welcoming a new team member, especially when that person so naturally embodies the heart of who we are.
Melanie Renner recently joined Meridian as a Client Service Associate and brings with her the knowledge gained from a lifelong career in customer service in executive assistant, medical billing, and meeting coordinator roles. She has built her career around being the person others can rely on: the one who ensures things run smoothly, who follows up, who anticipates needs, who makes people feel cared for. That commitment made Meridian a natural fit.
If you’ve called the office recently, scheduled a meeting, or needed support navigating next steps, there’s a good chance you’ve already experienced her calm, steady presence.
As a Client Service Associate, Melanie supports our advisors and operations team while helping ensure every client interaction feels welcoming and thoughtful. Whether it’s coordinating meetings, assisting with client requests, or managing behind-the-scenes details, she approaches her work with the belief that the “little things” are actually the big things.

When asked what she enjoys most about her current role, her answer is simple: the people.
She appreciates Meridian’s family atmosphere and the shared commitment to doing what’s right for clients — always. There is a genuine spirit of teamwork here, and she values being part of a group that supports one another just as intentionally as they support the families we serve.

Outside of the office, Melanie’s world revolves around family.
She and her husband celebrated 30 years of marriage last year, a milestone that feels both surreal and deeply grounding. Together, they have raised two adult children, and watching them grow into who they are has been one of her greatest joys.

Home is her happy place. She loves reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends and, of course, with her cats. Their household includes four former strays (two discovered in a jeep in Front Royal and two were born in her backyard). Melanie fed them… and they stayed. As cats do, they now confidently run the house.

And because every Meridian Hello Team blog ends with the “tea”… here we go.
5 Things About Melanie
What are your favorite hobbies?
Reading and cooking are at the top of her list. She loves quiet time with a good book and experimenting in the kitchen. But more than anything, spending time with family and friends is what fills her cup the most.
What is your favorite book or movie?
My favorite movie is Gone with the Wind and I am named after the character Melanie.
What was your first job?
Hair stylist. After high school, I went to cosmetology school and opened up a business in the small town where I lived. This was not for me.
What are your bucket list vacation spots?
My husband loves trains and we’d love to take a train trip throughout the country. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful way to travel. Also, Greece and Ireland are on the list.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Every child deserves to have someone’s eyes light up when they enter the room.” Author Toni Morrison inspired this sentiment in a conversation related to parenting where she shared that often we look at our children critically upon entering a room (checking if their clothes are straight or hair is combed), but children are actually looking to see if you are truly happy to see them. And I think same is true for adults.
