Health Insurance
Health insurance plans include HDHPs paired with HSAs, PPOs, HMOs and FSAs, usually paid with pre-tax dollars, plus Marketplace coverage and Medicare paid with after-tax dollars.

Disability Insurance
Short-term disability usually covers 3 to 6 months at 70-80% of base salary; long-term disability starts when it ends and usually covers 40-70% of base salary.

Life Insurance
Employer group life insurance often defaults to $50,000 or 1x salary and ends with employment; term life insurance is an affordable outside option for a set period.

Retirement Accounts
Employer plans such as 401(k)s, 403(b)s, SIMPLE IRAs and Thrift Savings Plans let you save automatically from each paycheck, pre-tax or Roth, often with an employer match.
