What Issues Should I Consider During a Recession or Market Correction?
Overview
Market downturns tend to test a financial plan more than they test a portfolio. If cash flow needs are covered without having to sell depressed assets, a correction becomes far less stressful, and far less costly.
Downturns can also create planning opportunities, tax-loss harvesting, rebalancing at more favorable prices, that are easy to overlook when the instinct is simply to wait it out.
